Episode 2: "Idol" Contestant Shows Up on "The Voice," Joins Levine's Team-Plus More

Remember Jon Peter Lewis from "American Idol"? Well, on Tuesday, Lewis and his friend Ryan Hayes' duo, called Midas Whale, were on the hit show "The Voice" on its second night of blind auditions. The duo, originally from Idaho, performed a groundbreaking performance of the Johnny Cash song "Folsom Prison Blues." The performance was enough to make all four coaches, Adam Levine, Usher, Shakira, and Blake Shelton, to turn their chairs for the duo. Lewis had previously performed on Season 3 of another hit singing competition, that being "American Idol." There, Lewis was infamously called a "pen salesman" by one of the show's original judges, Simon Cowell, during his audition for "Idol." Lewis made it to the Top 8, and in the end, Fantasia Barrino won the show. But now that Lewis is on "The Voice," he is more likely to end up winning the show as a part of Midas Whale.

After much consideration, Midas Whale chose Levine as their coach. This landed the Maroon 5 frontman not just the next spot on his team, but also his first duo ever on "The Voice." Levine was very excited to have his first-ever duo, but I don't think he knew about Lewis being on "American Idol." And I don't think that any of the other coaches on the show knew it either. Believe it or not, this isn't the first time that an "Idol" contestant has landed a spot on "The Voice." In the show's very first season, Frenchie Davis, from Season 2, was a competitor. And in Season 2 of "The Voice," there was Jamar Rodgers, who competed on "Idol"'s 8th and 9th seasons.

After Midas Whale's performance, there was a lot more in store for viewers of  "The Voice." And by far one of the show's most memorable moments that night was the show's last performance. 22-year old Sarah Simmons, from Memphis, Tennessee, took on Joan Osbourne's "One Of Us" and that made all four coaches turn their chairs. In the end, Simmons chose Levine as her coach. I screamed back at home, as I am a huge Adam Levine fan.

Plus, how many of you have seen a contestant on "The Voice" that sings a full song in Spanish? Well, that happened on Tuesday when 19 year-old Cathia took the "Voice" stage. Her performance of the season's first Spanish song, Luis Fonsi's "No Me Doy por Vencido," was enough to have Usher, Shikira, and Shelton to turn their chairs, with Shakira being picked.

Episode 1: Maroon 5 Frontman Levine Comforts "Voice" Contestant, Roach Calls It "Inspiring"- Plus More

 

You may know Adam Levine as the lead singer for the hit pop band Maroon 5. However, the premiere of the hit show "The Voice" showed Levine's softer side when he comforted a crying "Voice" contestant on Monday. The contestant was New Jersey's Janetza Miranda, whose performance of David Guetta's "Titanium" wasn't enough to have a coach turn their chair for her at the show's first night of blind auditions.  After the performance, Levine was the first to speak to Miranda. Miranda introduced herself to Levine, who then said, "This sucks, and I'm sorry." And this is where the most emotional moment of the night, according to me, begins.

One moment, me and my mom were watching the show without any thought of what was going to happen next, and the next, Miranda starts crying right after Levine said his first line. Then it happened all of a sudden. At that moment, I felt like crying, because Levine told Miranda, "Relax. It's okay," and then got up from his chair. Then, more random stuff, and then, it happened. Levine went up and hugged Miranda, before telling her, "It's gonna be alright. I promise. I'm gonna tell you some stuff, and we're going to help you, and you'll come back."

Awwww. How sweet is that?

As soon as Levine sat back in his chair, the crowd went wild. I almost fainted watching that. By far, it is the sweetest thing that Levine has ever done on "The Voice," and by far, that was the most emotional moment of the whole entire night. After the emotional moment, fans were most likely in tears, and some fans even said that that was the most emotional moment of the night. The other coaches, Usher, Shakira, and Blake Shelton, were on their feet. And when I saw the moment, I said, "Wow, that was so inspiring. I bet that that is gonna take home the crown for 'Most Emotional Moment Of The Night.'"

And that wasn't all that happened on "The Voice" last night. After a performance done by Texas native Danielle Bradbury singing Taylor Swift's song "Mean," two coaches, Usher and Shelton, both referred to Nashville as a state. How funny is that? The Miranda-Levine moment might have been the show's most emotional moment, but by far the "Nashville is a state" thing was definitely the funniest moment of the show's premiere.

Plus, for the first time in the show's history, twins-The Morgan Twins, to be exact- appeared on the show, and their groundbreaking performance of "Fallin'" brought all four coaches, including Levine, to hit their buttons in the first performance of the night. I don't think that that's ever happened on the show before. If it is true, it's another first for "The Voice." The twins sound so much alike, and I bet that all four of the coaches couldn't decide which sister was which. In the end, the twins picked Shelton as their coach, landing Shelton the first spot on his team. Also, at the end of the night, Levine finally got a team member in Judith Hill. Her performance of "What A Girl Wants" made all four coaches turn their chairs. After a moment, and tons of begging from Levine, Hill decided to join Levine's team. That, of course, made me scream in excitement. I LOVE YOU, ADAM LEVINE!! YOU R MY IDOL!!! :) And you're sooooo cute!!! (no offense)
